DANCE WITH US!

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

TINY TOES

(ages 2-3): Introduction to movement and music for our youngest dancers. Have fun with props and themes while learning basic dance moves.​​

MINI MOVERS

(ages 3-4):​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ A creative movement class which introduces students to the expressive world of dance. Monthly themes and props are used to teach ballet and jazz basics.

BALLET MINI

(ages 4-9): Ballet classes introducing the student to beginner ballet technique. Ballet mini levels incorporate monthly themes to encourage learning of this classical style in a fun setting.

BALLET

(ages 10+): A foundation of all dance styles. Progress is made through repetition of basics at the barre and center. Dancers develop flexibility, strength, correct body alignment, technique and musicality at all levels. 

PRE-POINTE

Pointe requires years of ballet training, strong ankles and proper alignment.  Pre-pointe allows our dancers to learn technique and build up their strength to qualify for our Pointe class after instructor approval. Instructor approval required.

POINTE

Pointe is a form of ballet where dancers wear special shoes to dance on their toes. It requires years of ballet training, strong ankles and proper alignment. Instructor approval required.

JAZZ

(ages 5+): Jazz is fun, upbeat, dynamic and challenging! Jazz covers the traditional jazz skills as well as more current jazz skills from contemporary, lyrical, and pop. Leaps, turns, technique, flexibility, and combinations are all things that will be introduced.

JAZZ COMBO

An “add on” class for those taking Jazz who want to master connecting all of the skills and techniques into fun combinations.  Weekly combinations will span from various styles of jazz funk, musical theater, and contemporary jazz.

LEAPS & TURNS

An "add on" class for the serious or competitive dancer.  Classes will consist of turn technique, turn variations, flexibility conditioning, flexibility tricks, and jumps & leaps.

Recommended- Ballet or Jazz class.

LYRICAL MINI

A class focusing on the expressive style of dance derived from jazz and ballet. Its fluid, expressive movements often portray emotion or lyrics of songs.

Prerequisite- Ballet or Jazz class.

LYRICAL/    CONTEMPORARY

A class focusing on two expressive and interpretive styles of dance. Technique for these is derived from classical, modern, and jazz styles of dance.  

Prerequisite- Ballet or Jazz class.

HIP HOP

(ages 4+): Hip Hop is an urban and street dance form of dance. It's designed to enhance rhythm, coordination, and individuality through a variety of styles like breaking, locking, and popping. Classes help with dancer coordination, musicality, and expression.  High energy combinations keep dancers moving and grooving throughout the class time.

TAP

(ages 10+): Tap develops rhythm, coordination, and quick footwork. Our tap training includes traditional, rhythmic, and jazz techniques. 

TAP COMBO

(ages 13+): Tap class working on tap techniques, connecting all of the skills into fun rhythms and combinations. Dancers in teen Tap Combo classes should have knowledge of basic tap fundamentals and should get placement advice on which Combo class to enroll in.

TECHNIQUE FOCUS

Increase your application and awareness with important technique commonly used in Ballet, Jazz, and styles derived from those.  Required for all D2 Comp.

Recommended- Ballet or Jazz class.
